Coronavirus updates

A lot has changed over the past week, so we’ve updated our website to include information about important announcements on welfare benefits, immigration and housing law, including:

  • the suspension of all housing possession actions for at least 90 days from today
  • the extension of leave to remain in the UK to 31 May 2020 for individuals who can’t leave because of coronavirus
  • the three-month suspension of reviews and reassessments in welfare benefits cases

Coronavirus

The health and wellbeing of our staff, clients and visitors is our top priority and we are working hard to prepare for the possible spread of the coronavirus, provide up to date information and advice and offer support as the situation develops.

We have added a new page to our website to explain the steps we’re taking to deal with coronavirus, which we’ll keep updated as the situation develops.

Season’s Greetings

Warmest season’s greetings to all our friends and supporters.

As usual, we’ll be closed between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and returning on Thursday 02 January.
Compliments of the season to you all, and see you in 2020.

We’re Recruiting!

Come and join our talented, committed (and friendly!) team. We’re currently looking for a welfare benefits caseworker and a trainee solicitor (as part of the prestigious Justice First Fellowship Scheme). Take a look at our Jobs page for more details.

Law Centre to host Justice First Fellowship trainee solicitor

We are delighted to announce that we have been selected to host a trainee solicitor under the Legal Education Foundation’s prestigious Justice First Fellowship scheme. The scheme supports the next generation of students committed to public interest and social justice issues who want to pursue a career in social welfare law.

We’re very excited to have this opportunity to contribute to the development of future leaders in our field and important advocates for access to justice and the rule of law.

Applications open on 16 August – watch this space!
