Law Centre to host Justice First Fellowship trainee solicitor

We are delighted to announce that we have been selected to host a trainee solicitor under the Legal Education Foundation’s prestigious Justice First Fellowship scheme. The scheme supports the next generation of students committed to public interest and social justice issues who want to pursue a career in social welfare law.

We’re very excited to have this opportunity to contribute to the development of future leaders in our field and important advocates for access to justice and the rule of law.

Applications open on 16 August – watch this space!

EU Settlement Scheme: New Help From the Law Centre

We can now offer help to EU nationals who want to continue to live, work and study in the UK without any immigration time restrictions after the UK leaves the European Union. As part of the nationwide EU Settled Status Complex Cases Project, we’ll be concentrating mainly on helping vulnerable people and those whose applications may involve complex elements. Find out more on the immigration law page of our website.

Investing in Volunteers

We have achieved the Investing in Volunteers award, the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management.

The award, managed by the UK Volunteering Forum and delivered by NCVO in England, means that we were assessed against a range of best practice standards and proved to excel in all aspects of working with our volunteers.

Investing in Volunteers is unique – the only standard that focuses on volunteers.

Our volunteers say we are:

  • very supportive, welcoming and appreciative; and that their work with us is
  • immensely rewarding… learned a lot!
